anne arundel county beach family portraits | maryland photographer

Generally, I deliver all the images from a portrait session both in color and black and white.

Sometimes the location or wardrobe or subject makes it so that black and white images just don’t make sense so sometimes I skip it. For instance, if you plan a rainbow backdrop, you probably don’t really need images without color.

Most often, though, the black and white images are my favorite. I almost never prefer a color image over it’s monochrome counterpart.

That was especially true for this mid-morning session on the beach so I thought I’d show you. Here are 42 of my favorites because who could pick just a few.

documentary style in-home newborn session | annapolis newborn photographer

I love an in-home newborn portrait session.  Don’t get me wrong, I also love posing babies in the studio but documentary style newborn sessions really allow me to be a fly on the wall.  Parents soak in every detail of their  new baby and go about their new routines of feeding, changing, swaddling and snuggling baby and I sit back and capture it.  Over an hour or so, I ask about their birth story and as we chit-chat we visit all the spaces in and around their house to paint a full picture of those early days with a new little love.
