Waiting is the hardest part…They’ve landed!
Is that really him?
As you become an adult, the days you looked forward to all your life start to pass. Prom is over, my wedding day came and went, seeing the first + on a pregnancy test and meeting our first child was almost 5 years ago already… It seems that there is a little bit of a lull in the excitement until one day I looked around and realized that so many ordinary moments are the foundation of my life.
Those times you don’t particularly recognize become life-long memories – you don’t know what interaction becomes your child’s first real friend, or when exactly you go from friends with someone to knowing your children will grow up together. Those little building blocks layer and layer and you can’t see what’s being built until you turn around and reflect.
That’s how I feel about the Marenco family. We knew each other, saw each other at larger get-togethers, but before I knew it I was cutting the cord just minutes after the birth of their second child. It is a real blessing to know them and I look forward to many more holidays and vacations together, long-distance Skype calls and watching our children grow side-by-side even though we may live far apart.

Samantha’s Birth, then newborn portraits and her dad’s homecoming…
And then another announcement!

Followed by an other birth and newborn session …

And now that tiny baby is already a One-Year-Old!
Now boarding… Michie Party of Three!
Anna and Chad are headed to their honeymoon on the one-year anniversary of their beautiful wedding… with a baby on board!
What a joy to help make their pregnancy announcement as they get ready to board their airplane 🙂
There are a few days in life that make it to the top of the list… your graduation, your wedding day, your children’s birthdays. These most memorable, most anticipated, most joyous times are few and far between, military spouses and children get to add another day to that list: homecoming.
It’s such a pleasure to be at BWI for those amazing days (and nights) when families wait for their loved one to land safely at home after so many months apart. Click here for information about booking your homecoming photography for free.
This sweet baby girl has spent much more of her life away from daddy than she has in his arms, but that’s all about to change…

Her big sister’s excitement was hard to contain, but she was so patient in those last agonizing moments!
There he is!
This moment is the one that really chokes me up. The little moment of celebration between mother and daughters – they did it together. It’s hard to think about your spouse being away for so long as a blessing but for me the most beautiful memory was having time with my child that wasn’t shared with anyone. It isn’t easy to be a “single mother,” but few get the chance to have so much time (as my daughter calls it) “just you and me.”

It seems like yesterday we were announcing this sweet baby would be arriving in April. Not long after, they learned she was a girl. While winter wouldn’t quit, we photographed their maternity portraits and I waited for the call to be there for her birth…
Mia is a dream to photograph and i look forward to watching her grow!

We also got to play in the cherry blossoms!

Human milk is an immune-building, disease-busting fluid that contains hundreds of healthy bacteria and complex sugar compounds that have been shown to destroy harmful bacteria, like pneumococcus, E.Coli, Salmonella, even superbugs like C. Diff., a daily vaccine against viruses to which the mother is exposed, contains cancer-fighting cells & stem cells, is chock full of essential fatty acids (e.g., Omega 3′s that build and protect the brain & help with mood stability), and can even help older babies, children and adults to heal from illness.
