I love shooting these short and sweet outdoor family portraits in Pasadena, MD. After the excitement of Christmas and New Years, the freezing winter months seem to drag on but this family brought a little warmth and sunshine despite the dreary winter weather. Some of my favorite sessions include fur-babies, and this old man really stole the spotlight.

Baby’s first birthday portraits capture such an important milestone. It’s been an incredible joy to watch M grow over the last year and it was extra special to shoot her 1t birthday photos at the same location as her parent’s maternity session. I love how her mama styled this session in comfy, warm layers and textures with a mix of neutrals and earth tones.

I had a very special start to the new year! My first session of 2019 was the beautiful birth of a special baby boy at AAMC on 1/1/19. His mama labored with the help of a fantastic doula and the look on her midwife’s face just as baby emerged says everything about the loving, respectful care they offered.
Here’s what she said when she saw the photos:
“Well, I’m a sobbing mess! Those photos are so incredibly beautiful! I had no idea I’d feel so much looking back at my birth. Thank you so, so, so much for being there and capturing it for me. Those pictures are PRICELESS.”
