I photographed Allyson, Jeff and sweet Abigail in their Baltimore, MD home. In-home newborn portraits are quickly becoming one of my favorites to shoot in because of the relaxed and simple moments we’re able to capture. When Allyson and I met a couple of years ago and I could tell she’d make a wonderful mother one day – she’s so positive, thoughtful and caring. And likewise, when I met Jeff – he is just as patient and loving. I knew their early days of parenting would be filled with such love and intention – and after spending just an hour with them on a sunny spring morning, no words or images could capture just how much pure love surrounds the three of them.
Allyson’s pregnancy went past here “due” date and from the sounds of it, her labor was long and difficult – but she never complained. All I heard was her immense gratitude for the loving support she received and for the most precious child finally in her arms.
Abigail is just the most chill, quietly-aware soul. They didn’t rush to book this session, so when we scheduled their in-home newborn portraits, Abigail was about 1 month old. That gave them time to settle into life with a new baby and notice what about this moment in time will be worth remembering – like Abigail soaking in sunlight by their front window or sleeping in her cradle – a family heirloom. What an honor to witness this kind of extraordinary-everyday love.

Maryland Family Mini Sessions | Anne Arundel County Family Photographer

Jill here. I just returned from an incredible photography workshop/retreat in Fairview, Utah with Unraveled Academy and I’m so inspired to create images that are even closer to real-life now that I’m back home in Maryland. In order to practice some of the new techniques I’ve learned and refresh my portfolio, I’m offering a great deal on family portraits with a new twist! No matter how wonderful an image is, sometimes the still doesn’t do it justice… so just in time for a Mother’s or Father’s Day gift, we’re hosting an afternoon of family mini sessions that include both photo AND video.
Join me for 15 minute sessions on the Patapsco River in Pasadena, MD where we’ll capture a little bit of the love, laughter and wild energy of you and your children.
These are not your typical sit-down-and-smile family portraits. We want to document the tender moments between parent and child, silly expressions between siblings and the wild personalities of each individual right on the water in Anne Arundel County, MD.
Sessions will result in a 30+ second highlight video and an online gallery of still images (with 30+ images) from which you’ll choose your 3 favorite images and have the option to purchase more.

You should expect the images to feel the same as those you see in this e-mail – emotive, real, sweet and playful. Sessions earlier in the afternoon will be in bright sunshine with vivid colors and deep shadows (like you see below with the red dress) and later into the evening we’ll have the more even glow of sunset light. We’ll spend this time talking, snuggling, laughing, playing and giving eskimo kisses so any age will enjoy a stress-free session – newborn to adult are welcome.
