On October 26th at 6:34am, Zack and I welcomed our 9 pound baby boy.  Born at home in the water, his father’s hands were the first to hold him – guided by our amazing midwives. The last 3 weeks have been so beautiful and we have felt so loved by our friends and family!  Here are a few of his first portraits… many more to come!

My last portrait – 39 weeks!  Holden came 3 weeks later 🙂

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby!  (<— Click those links to see the beginning of this family’s story)

I’m incredibly honored to get to document this beautiful family and I can’t wait to meet their sweet baby girl in just a couple of months 🙂

Until then, enjoy a few dozen of my favorites from their maternity session…

This precious little one visited the studio one month after her early debut, weighing in at just over 5 pounds.  Born almost 8 weeks early, Harper busted out of the NICU just 2 weeks later and has been growing and thriving ever since.  There’s no denying that her parent’s enormous love for her played a huge part!   Happy 1 Month, Harper!

S.  With any newborn, but especially a preemie, we take every precaution to be sure the studio and every piece of fabric, prop and backdrop are all completely clean and free of harsh chemicals that could irritate baby.  Safety is always the first priority in each session in posing, as well as preparing a clean space for the newest and most vulnerable babies!
