I’ve been so lucky to photograph all 3 of my dear friend Melissa’s babies from the minute they were born (see the first 2 here and here). This time was especially sweet because baby #3 shares my name. <3 When I got the call around 7am, I threw a change of clothes in a bag and bounded out the door – if I was going to make it, I’d better not waste any time. Melissa still lives in North Carolina – it’s a 7 hour drive.

Even more special was getting to be there with our mutual friend, Megan – the photos that I appear in belong to her!

I made it about an hour before baby J made her arrival and it was such a joy to be able to be there as friend and photographer.

It’s never too late to schedule your newborn portraits – I’m always happy to try to accommodate last-minute newborn sessions while baby is still under 2 weeks old! We’ll keep the studio ready for you!

Outdoor Maternity Portraits | Pasadena, MD Pregnancy Photography

The afternoon we had planned included fall foliage at a local park… but the leaves hadn’t turned, and the park was closed on Tuesdays …. and the leftovers of Hurricane Joaquin were hitting Pasadena. Hurricane or not, these maternity images are some of my all time favorites.

For most maternity sessions, moms-to-be wear 1 outfit to the session then choose from the many dresses, fabrics and gowns in the studio to wear for a variety of images. Both dresses/fabrics here are available in the studio and adjust to fit a wide variety of sizes.

It’s always so much fun to “shop” in the studio for the props, headbands, hats and backdrops for each newborn session. This beautiful 1 month old looked adorable in pink and mint – each of the coordinating sets came from our stash!4 weeks old and just so small and sleepy! Those first weeks are so hard and so wonderful!
