extended family photos

If you know me, you know extended family sessions aren’t really my thing. I’m easily overwhelmed by so many faces and so many expectations. I really love working with 2 generations at a time and just one nuclear family at a time – it’s just my personality. And even though that’s true, I value these big group images so much. It’s so important for families to get images like this and I see so many special moments photographed in the midst of the chaos. 

This family is special to me for so many reasons so I was happy to make the exception for them. I went to high school and worked with a few of them in college. Denise was a guest at my wedding. I’ve photographed all of their kids for years – a couple since birth! I’ve been lucky to photograph anniversaries, birthdays, pregnancies and the many milestones in between. It’s no surprise, I’ve got a big love for them!

Photographing this session was as easy as it gets because they are so much fun to be around. No exaggeration, I laughed until my face hurt. I might have cried a little at the tender moments I saw while I was editing. It was such a pleasure to get to see these 3 generations, 3 brothers, 3 granddaughters all together. To listen to the story of their parent’s getting engaged and laugh at the trouble the boys put their mama through. 

I loved every minute of this, Jones Fam, and I hope we get to do it again next year. 

Azalea Mini Sessions 2023

We can’t wait for this special season every year! 

The azaleas bloom typically in the 3rd week of April and stay looking gorgeous for about 10 days-2 weeks. 

The morning light filtering through the trees is perfect for these whimsical portraits. 

Sessions include 3 digital images and use of couture children’s wardrobe (Size 3T-14) and adult maternity gowns (XS-4X). 

Here’s what you need to know: 

  • Sessions last about 15 minutes. It’s short, sweet and perfect for capturing updated milestone images of your children, a pregnancy session, or family portrait. 
  • It’s a private residence so you’ll get the address upon sign up but the location is Millersville, MD
  • You might need to be flexible on the date as the weather impacts both the dates they blossom and the ability to shoot outdoors. 
  • We’ll reschedule for heavy rain or wind but not for temperature. Expect low-50s to mid-60s most mornings.
  • There is no bathroom or changing room available – most people change in their car if they are wearing studio wardrobe. 
  • The price is $500 per session.
