It is an honor to meet some of the newest people in the world and share in their family’s joy. It’s hard to find the words, but when I look back every year, I am so proud to see growth both in my artwork and business. In 2013, Zack and I watched our baby become a toddler and our toddler become a child – there’s nothing more bittersweet than enjoying watching your child grow and still missing the time that has passed.
In perfect timing, we were blessed beyond measure to have the new opportunity of Zack going back to school and being a stay-at-home-dad while I “work” full-time. I can hardly call what I do work – I don’t work a day in my life! This year we moved into our first home and built a studio space on our property. This gift – being a photographer – allowed us to spend the summer visiting friends and family from coast to coast. In the fall, we welcomed our first niece – Harper Lynn. Winter settled in and we spent our first Christmas in our own home followed by visiting family out of town and having dear friends visit us for a New Year’s celebration.
To everyone who has made this journey possible – those who commissioned me to take your family’s portraits, those who babysat my children, those who attended grand opening events or sponsored giveaways, those who volunteered along side of me, those who encouraged me with a blog comment or took the time to send a hand-written ‘thank you’ – thank you will never be enough!
Cheers to a joyous and peaceful 2014!
