I always want to say a little something about the births I witness, but I can’t think of anything but cliches. Every time I think I’m tired of being on-call, of staying up all night, of having my cell phone constantly in hand…. I am there for another birthday and I fall in love with birth all over again. There is nothing quite like watching the birth of a mother and of a family. Seeing love grow and fill a room is beyond words.
Mia had a peaceful, gentle, family-centered cesarean birth carried out by doctors and nurses who showed mom, dad, baby (and this photographer!) so much love. I don’t even want to use the word “surgery” to describe it – that word rings feelings of anxiety and fear. While this birth was performed by a surgery, it was anything but surgical.
Be sure to check back for progression photos of Mia growing in mama’s belly, maternity and newborn posts to come! 🙂
